Thinking Up Stories to Write

For children aged 7 years or older

Friday 20 Feb 13.30

Do you want to write a book?  If so, come along to IW author, Felicity Fair Thompson’s session ‘Thinking Up Stories to Write’.  Join her to play with ideas and listen to the story Daisy Works Wonders – in which Daisy wants to stop a new girl in her class being bullied and comes up with a very new approach. Felicity’s children’s books often start off with a problem.  Could you use this technique?  Bring your ideas along and let’s talk, share suggestions, try out some illustrations and, maybe, draw the front cover of your book.

Felicity Fair Thompson, writer and film maker, studied at University of the Arts London. Her documentary about Carisbrooke Castle was broadcast on SKY TV. Three of her other fourteen indie travel films made for the retail market were shown on Australian television. Her published writing includes four exciting children's stories, an EU funded community play, three produced stage plays, theatre reviews, personality profiles, award winning poetry, scenic travel features, and three novels - the most successful – how a 12-year-old boy coped in WWII.

She teaches Creative Writing independently and is mentor to young writers with learning difficulties.
