Bridge of Storms: An action-packed city-eat-city adventure from the world of Mortal Engines. Brave fighter Tamzin Pook and her oddball gang of mercenaries are caught up in another adventure across the Hunting Grounds. When they visit the city of Museion, they find themselves unexpectedly chased by a gang of bloodthirsty raiders intent on their capture. Their epic attempt to escape leads to a showdown on a majestic bridge during a ferocious ice storm. Can Tamzin and her friends lead Museion out of danger?.

Mortal Engines, Philip Reeve’s epic adventure set in a world of mobile cities, was first published 25 years ago. From that first book a whole elaborate world has evolved, with hundreds of characters spread across ten books, and a film adaptation produced by Peter Jackson. Recently, Philip has returned to the world of Traction Cities in Thunder City, and its newly-published sequel, Bridge of Storms. Join him to hear about the origins of this modern classic of adventure, and get a glimpse of where the series may go in future.

Philip Reeve is the author of numerous books for children and young adults, including the the Railhead trilogy, the Utterly Dark series, the Carnegie Medal winning Here Lies Arthur, and the ongoing Mortal Engines series, the first of which was made into a film. He also works with author and illustrator Sarah McIntyre on funny, highly illustrated adventures for younger readers, including Pugs of the Frozen North and the Adventuremice series.
