The Secret Library
Creative workshop: for children 7 years or older: The Secret Library
Clayden Gallery

You will find the Secret Library if you have an imagination. Ever wondered where those little knick-knacks come from and what their real purpose is? With a nod to The Borrowers, here’s your chance to write your own story about the teeny-tiny washing drying on a line, or the antique microscope, or the man in the hot air balloon dangling from the ceiling. Let this place of wonder help inspire your stories.

Participants will get their chance to write their own storybook.

Allergy advice: natural materials used in this workshop, including nut shells.

There are only 10 tickets for this workshop, but the Secret Library will be open to all during the afternoons, where you might bump into a Story Festival author who is telling a story. You can use the space to sit and write or draw too.

Jules Marriner was born in Buckinghamshire, but has never let this hold her back. It was at Uni that she realised that she wanted to spend the days drawing animals doing unlikely things. After a spell in London, she moved to the Isle of Wight which was much more animal friendly, what with all the Red Squirrels and Orang-Utans and started writing and illustrating books for children. She is still searching for the Orangs.

Only children attending need a ticket; the accompanying adult does not need a ticket. Just 10 spaces, so book now.
7+, The Secret Library Friday 21st Feb 10.30
