Adam is in charge of the ministry of nonsense rhymes, so he needs help creating poems based on the wondrous surroundings of the Museum of Curious Enchantment in the Clayden gallery.

Age 8+ How to be disabled and proud – for disabled children and allies!
​
Cathy​ will talk about life as an author and how she came to write her book. Reading an an excerpt from 'How to be Disabled and Proud', Cathy will highlight the message of empowerment in the book, and also draw attention to the things we need to do in order to make the world more inclusive and accessible to disabled people.

Age 4+ How to Catch a Book Witch
Kira loves reading, visiting the library for a new book is her favourite thing. One day the words in the books start to disappear and the adults start to get grumpy.
An open hearted show aimed at children aged 4+. Exploring the importance of libraries, sharing stories and not judging people. The show features live music, puppetry, storytelling, key-word signing and captions. All shows are relaxed.

Mortal Engines, Philip Reeve’s epic adventure set in a world of mobile cities, was first published 25 years ago. From that first book a whole elaborate world has evolved, with hundreds of characters spread across ten books, and a film adaptation produced by Peter Jackson. Recently, Philip has returned to the world of Traction Cities in Thunder City, and its newly-published sequel, Bridge of Storms. Join him to hear about the origins of this modern classic of adventure, and get a glimpse of where the series may go in future.

Failing to heed the warning of the older goats, the greener, juicier grass on the edge of the forest calls to Billy. Slipping away and enjoying the fresh clover all on his own, he fails to notice when the goat herder takes the goats back to the farm at the end of the day.
A mixture of live acting, puppetry, rhyme, music with live musicians, and dancing as we tell our funny story.

Join us for an exploration of storytelling through Indian classical dance! Discover the of hand gestures (mudras), facial expressions, body postures, and footwork in this ancient art form. Together, we will create a short dance performance to contemporary music for you to take home and cherish.

Steve Cole leads his audience on a laugh-a-minute, high energy, ukulele-accompanied master class in telling stories. He will share quick-and-easy ways to invent story ideas and share secret writing tips. He’ll even reveal the secret origins of characters such as the much-loved Astrosaurs – dinosaurs in space – now back in their own graphic novel.

Make some shadow puppets and use them to tell a story In this session, we’ll provide the screen, light and card – you provide the imagination, the drawings, the cutting skills and the hands to hold the puppets. This will be an ideal session for families to create a tiny tale together, or for two or three friends to collaborate – it could be based on a tale you know or be a completely new tiny tale.
