Join Nazneen Ahmed Pathak in her spellbinding session, where she’ll share her inspiration behind her fantastical, adventure filled children’s book, City of Stolen Magic. Journey across the seas from Bangladesh to England, learning about Nazneen family history along the way, and discover an array of different kinds of magic, and their origin stories. You’ll also have the chance to write your very own spells and create your own charms!

Nazneen Ahmed Pathak is a children’s author who lives in Southampton. Her first middle-grade novel for children, City of Stolen Magic, was published by Puffin in June 2023 and was July 2023’s Waterstones’ Children’s Book of the Month. She is Lecturer in Creative Writing for Children and Young People at the University of Exeter. She writes fiction for children, creative non-fiction and poetry for adults, often on the topic of migration, which has also been the focus of her academic research. She was Hampshire Poet Laureate from 2022-2023, and she is represented by Louise Lamont at LBA Books.
